Hitchcockian Display of Seagulls on the Prom
Like many beaches, the gulls have caught on that they can be fed by humans. Here they sit, just steps from the Turnaround, hounding the photographer for scraps of his pizza dinner - as he tries to sit peacefully, enjoying his meal in front of a pristine ocean scene. But nooooo....they have to gather around you and annoy you, at once begging and waiting to pounce on you for your grub. And then when you bend over for JUST A SECOND TO TIE YOUR SHOE, and thus had to SET YOUR PIZZA DOWN, they jump at you like you've abandoned your dinner and poise further to attack until you jump up and scare them away, looking like an idiot in front of all those in this crowded area because you've just flapped your arms around and accidentally screamed an obscenity....and oh man....now I'm upset again.
