Melissa Stetzel, spokesperson for the winery, said much of the winery’s unusual, fun-filled approach comes from owner Ray Shackelford, a renowned coastal character. “We wanted to be different and not look like wine snobs. We just want to have a good time. We don’t want to follow any rules. And the day we follow the rules, we’ll be wondering what’s going on. That’s not the winery way.”

Case in point: the "roof woof." A regular loiterer at the winery is this dog named Boo (well, actually it's Boo Boo).
