Newport, Oregon Dining Guide: A Look at Newport Restaurants
(Newport, Oregon) – Along Oregon's coast, Newport sports something different in the way of eateries. There are more restaurants with outdoor eating areas than anywhere along these shores. And there's a unique mix of places to eat along the bay, with a beachfront view or in especially handsome interiors.
Plus, some major coastal staples got their start here and remain as culinary examples of living history. While other new, cutting edge restaurants blaze stellar paths via your palate.
Village Market Bistro & Deli. In Newport’s Nye Beach district, lunch on gourmet cuisine to a beautiful view of the ocean. Specializing in cutting edge sandwiches, soups and specialty meat, cheese and veggie plates. Sandwiches (around $9) include wonders like the Tuscan Turkey (Hickory smoked turkey breast, sun dried tomatoes), Citrus grilled chicken breast or an ethereal pulled pork barbecue. You can also design your own sandwiches. Plates ($6 - $12) include artisan breads and cheeses, a luscious housemade pate, and imported meats. Try the Artichoke-Fennel-Parmesan Spread (Artichoke hearts sautéed in white wine with fennel seed and blended with fresh grated Grande Parma), for example.
